Each month period includes an average of 20 credit hours (h / c) distributed in five or six subjects. Each h / c consists of fourteen teaching hours (each hour URU teacher is 50 minutes) plus the recuperative period of testing. In this way each credit-hour represents 11 hours and 40 minutes, and the eventual recovery time, these represent nearly 12 hours over 17 weeks and a half in the average time schedule of the other universities in the region and country. In this way ensures two goals URU: planning the time needed to complete program development and optimal use of time to achieve a university degree.

Since this system allows students to take three semesters each year, the university does not offer courses or summer vacation.
